Peters in Leipzig, der er den Erhalt seines Honorars "für mein letztes Concert" meldet: "[...] Ihre Bemerkungen über die Composition meines letzten Concerts sind sehr richtig [...] Es ist gantz wahr daß dieses Concert nicht so lieblich tönt wie das erste; dies kann aber auch nicht der Fall sein, denn ich habe es in einem pathetischen Stil geschrieben, und den mechanischen Theil desselben weit schwerer gesetzt. Dies geschah, um die Kenner zu befriedigen, und zugleich dem Virtuosen etwas Künstliches zu liefern, worauf sie doch Werth zu setzen scheinen, und besonders weil man in der Recension meines ersten Concerts es zu leicht gefunden hatte. Mein künftiges Concert (das ich Ihnen bei Gelegenheit schicken werde) soll aber, wie ich hoffe, den Ohren mehrerer Zuhörer, so wie jenes erste schmeicheln, und dem Virtuosen doch auch zu gläntzen Gelegenheit geben [...]". - Das Adreßblatt mit einigen Ausrissen.
