M. habe ich die Ehre, Ihnen anzuzeigen, daß ich Ihrem Anerbieten in Betreff der Herausgabe der S. Bach'schen Choräle (Th. II.) gern entgegenkomme. Das Ms. dazu lag schon seit längerer Zeit zum Druck bereit, es bedarf jedoch noch sehr der Überarbeitung u. des Rectificierens, ebenso der Beifügung der orig. Texte u. der historischen Notizen über Alter etc. der Mel. u. Texte etc. Binnen 14 Tagen hoffe ich damit zu Ende zu sein u. werde Ihnen alsdann das Ms. sofort zugehn laßen. Jedenfalls könnte ich Ihnen schon sehr bald einen Theil des Ms. zugehn laßen. Rücksichtlich des Honorars f. den II. Th. möchte ich wünschen, daß Sie dasselbe von 50 auf 60 Thlr erhöhen möchten, da ich beim I. Th. meine darauf verwandte unsägliche Mühe u. Arbeit nur sehr mäßig verwerthet habe. Freilich war es mir damals, u. das ist es auch jetzt noch, Ehrensache, den Altmeister Seb. Bach in sein gutes altes Recht wieder einzusetzen u. ihn von allem Wuste von Entstellungen möglichst rein herzustellen, aber 'ein Arbeiter ist ja auch seines Lohns werth', besonders wenn es sich um eine so schwere Arbeit handelt, die sich auf genaueste Einsicht in die orig. Mspte gründet. Zugleich wäre es mir wünschenswerth, 1 Ex. vom I. Th. der Choräle zu erhalten.
