"Eine Teilaufführung seiner Erstlingsoper ‚Die drei Musketiere' erregte die Aufmerksamkeit Jules Massenets, der ihn in Paris in Instrumentation und dramatischer Komposition unterrichtete; eine persönliche Begegnung mit Claude Debussy vermittelte Frank weitere Impulse. 1900 gründete er ein Streichquartett, mit dem er Tourneen durch Italien, Frankreich, Spanien und den Vorderen Orient unternahm" (DBE). Nach Engagements als Konzertmeister an verschiedenen italienischen Theatern wirkte er von 1904 bis 1934 als Bratschist des Volksopernorchesters in Wien. "Den Höhepunkt seines kompositorischen Schaffens, in dessen Mittelpunkt die Oper stand, erreichte Frank mit ‚Die fremde Frau', die nach der Wiener Uraufführung 1937 sogleich von den Opernhäusern in Graz, Triest, Warschau und Riga übernommen wurde" (ebd).

Oggi per la prima volta si racconta, dall'infanzia nomade al seguito dei genitori alla scoperta della musica e all'incisione del primo disco; ma Frankie hi-nrg mc ricostruisce anche le tappe cruciali di un'altra storia, quella che negli stessi anni si gioca dall'altra parte dell'oceano, a New York, dove un gruppo di musicisti autodidatti sta dando vita a un sound completamente nuovo, fabbricando fisicamente la strumentazione necessaria per mixare pezzi diversi e inventando la cultura hip hop: grazie a un rivoluzionario sistema di qr-code, potranno essere ascoltati in diretta classici e perle meno conosciute del rap. Due strade che sembrano correre parallele e che invece sono convergenti, destinate a incontrarsi proprio nel giorno in cui Frankie hi-nrg mc dà alle stampe "Fight da Faida", il disco che ha sdoganato il rap impegnato nel nostro Paese, e che ha consegnato il suo autore alla storia della musica italiana.
