In this work he classified the chief facts of Chemistry under twelve headings, and it proved to be a very popular summary of the new antiphlogistic chemistry. - Not in Duveen (having only the second edition) - Partington III:p. 538.‎

Bdg. somewhat worn. Internally a bit of brownspotting and occationally a little soiling, but overall fine. Engr. frontispiece (= engr. t-p. dated 1707), 8 full-page engr. plates and 3 about half-page engr. vignettes. (6), XVIII, 394, (6) pp.‎

‎This is the Dutch reprint (in French) (also called the ""pirated edition"") of the first edition from 1706/07, with the engraved title-page from this. The second edition appeared in 1747. ""In 1741 Neaulme issued a pirated edition which again, apart from variations on the title-page, is identical to the 1706 edition. Encouraged by this pirated edition Frezier wrote a second edition which appeared in 1747 in three differing versions."" (C. Philip, p. 59). Very important reference-work on firewirks. ""Frezier was probably one of the most important pyrotechnics in the mid 18th century..."" (C. Philip, p. 58). He borrows heavily from other authors, but his works are interesting, also as they scrupulously cite the sources. The plates show different kinds of fireworks, with many illustrations on each and the vignettes show displays of fireworks, as this work also deals much with the conduct and displaying of these.‎

‎Scarce edition of Bergman's collected chemical and physical dissertations and memoirs. The publication of the work was initiated by Bergman himself and the first 3 volumes were published in Stockholm. After Bergman's death Hebenstreit reedited the work and reprinted the 3 first volumes in Leipzig together with volume 4-6. The copy here is the first Leipzig-edition and the most complete as vol. 1-3 were expanded and contains in all 72 dissertations and memoirs which hereby forms a collection of all the author's scientific papers. - Duveen p. 66 - Partington III:p. 183.‎

The htitle reads: ""Praxis Artolloriae Pyrotechnicæ"". Htitle,(6),71,(1) pp.. and 51 engraved plates with 117 figs. (numb. 1-51 of which 2 are unnumb.). One leaf lacks (pp. 17/18) and p. 17 is present in cont. handwriting, but the whole leaf supplied in a fine facsimile on old paper. 2 plates a bit shaved and frayed in margin. Slight browning to htitle, a few minor brownspots. A good copy.‎

‎Scarce second edition. The publisher tells us in the postscript that the book, published 1657, was in much demand and that it was unobtainable, so he was requested by a gentleman (Einen vornehmen Herr) to republish it. This second edition came out without the authors name. It is divided in 2 parts. The first part mainly deals with all kinds of recreative fireworks but also with the making of rockets, fire-water-and storm balls, grenades, pitch, storm wheels and receipts for gunpowder. The second part deals with gunnery and artillery (Ander der Artollery). - Chris Philip S 310.2 - Not in Rumpf and Cockle.‎

Of the English edition of 1629, Cockle says ""This work, though in advance of anything so far written on the subject in English, does not attain to the standard of Thibourel and Appier. ‎First edition, offprint issue of Arrhenius' famous dissertation, in which he first presented his theory of electrolytic dissociation. Arrhenius was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1903 ""in recognition of the extraordinary services he has rendered to the advancement of chemistry by his electrolytic theory of dissociation"".
