brossura Il libro "Nuove dimensioni" è la ricostruzione di una atmosfera, quella degli anni Sessanta, attraverso le parole ed i ricordi dei redattori della rivista, che uscì alla Spezia dal 1961 al 1964. L'autrice iniziò, nel 1997, a raccogliere testimonianze nelle quali si parla delle vicende redazionali e, dopo decenni, degli articoli più interessanti, analizzati criticamente, che l'autrice ha riportato fedelmente nel libro. Troviamo così i saggi del direttore Ferruccio Battolini, critico d'arte e letterario affermato in Italia, e quelli dei giovani studenti spezzini che avevano voluto la rivista dopo aver conosciuto a Genova Edoardo Sanguinetti, in particolare Beppe Delconte ed Eligio Patrone, affrontarono Ezra Pound ed i suoi Cantos. Spartaco Gamberini, letterato e docente nell'università di Cardiff, analizzò il Crepularismo, l'Entropia e gli scritti di Umberto Eco; Luciano Cherchi, letterato e poeta, parlò del movimento dei Novissimi, suo fratello Sandro, scultore, di Kline, Birolli e molti altri sono i saggi ancor oggi importanti per la storia della letteratura e dell'arte in Italia. Ferruccio Battolini ha donato la sua collezione d'arte al Comune della Spezia e questo volume esce dopo molti anni per ricordarlo.

Un'immagine è ancora in grado di stupirci e sconvolgerci? Nel 1922 Marcel Duchamp scriveva ad Alfred Stieglitz:" Sai esattamente cosa penso della fotografia. Vorrei che portasse a disprezzare la pittura finché qualcos'altro a sua volta renderà insopportabile la fotografia". Quel momento è forse arrivato? Il fotogiornalismo sta morendo per obsolescenza? Ha esaurito la sua funzione storica? Ricostruendo i percorsi di oltre cento anni di storia del fotogiornalismo italiano il libro ci conduce fino a queste domande. Ragiona sulle funzioni attribuite nel secolo scorso alla fotografia d'informazione e sulle caratteristiche e i limiti che ne hanno segnato l'evoluzione in Italia. Analizza le scelte culturali e politiche del nostro fotogiornalismo, seguendo la storia delle testate e quella dei fotoreporter. Esamina i generi e gli stili, il rapporto fra la fotografia e la sua messa in pagina, le diverse prospettive e sensibilità con cui i fotogiornalisti italiani hanno scelto di osservare e raccontare la realtà.
