Library rebound in orange buckram with lettering and decoration in white; covers bright and clean with mild rubbing to extremities. Binding is tight spine square. Library markings as usual. Light smudging or spotting to some pages throughout unobtrusive except page 14 -19 have some small tears and paper damage rendering several words difficult to make out. Overall a sturdy and serviceable reading copy. I believe this is the same book published in the USA as "The Enchanted Moccasins and Other Legends of the Americans Indians"; Enchanted Moccasins is one of the 28 tales comprising the collection. Originally compiled by Henry Schoolcraft re-interpreted and developed by Matthews to "enable them as far as worthy to take a place with the popular versions of the Arabian Nights' Entertainments. and other tales of Europe and the East to which they bear a resemblance in romantic interest and quaint extravagance of fancy."
