The service comprised several hymns here presented with lyrics and music including My Country ‘Tis of Thee America readings from the Bible singing by the school brief addresses and reports a benediction and most notably the “Superintendent’s Words.â€</p> <p>The latter feature is a formal question and answer dialogue between the “Leader†and the “School†on such themes immigration the needs of “foreigners†colportage Sabbath-school work and fundraising to support this outreach: “Rally Day shall be ‘exclusively set aside as a day for special presentation of the great work among foreigners in America…†p7 Half tone illustrations show immigrant children and a “Religious service in the Bohemian language on the immigration pier.â€</p> unknown
<p>Newark N.J.: Newark Wesleyan Institute 1848. 8 pages. Pamphlet. 8 ½ x 5 ½ inches. Pamphlet; removed without wrappers; foxing and staining Good.</p> <p>Presumably unrecorded prospectus for the Newark Wesleyan Institute in Newark New Jersey. The illustrated title-page shows a vignette of the school. The organization of the school was to be accomplished via joint-stock capital and the terms of the scheme are explained. Prospective investors were informed on the final page that the school would be furnished and finished by September 1848.</p> <p>No copies extant in OCLC or at AAS. Not in Felcone. A small handful of related publications appear in OCLC all are rare.</p> unknown
