2 volumi in-12° (mm 156x81), pp. XI, (1), 327, (1); XXII, (2), 348. Legatura coeva in pergamena , titoli in oro su tassello ai dorsi, tagli spruzzati in rosso. La celebre opera di Gregorio Leti, apparsa per la prima volta a Roma nel 1674, non benevola illustrazione della corte pontificia in cui l'autore si cela sotto lo pseudonimo del Cavalier Lunadoro. Più volte riproposta anche nel secolo successivo, l'edizione che presentiamo è accresciuta da Francesco Antonio Zaccaria, e nella Parte seconda è inserito un capitolo dedicato alle funzioni e all'organizzazione del Tribunale dell'Agricoltura, "una speciale soprantendenza alle cause appartenenti ad animali, a pascoli, campagne, ed altre cose di simil fatta; ed a Persone impiegate in Campestri lavori" (pp. 326-327). Minime bruniture ma buon esemplare. A entrambi i frontespizi nota di possesso datata 1776 ‘Giambattista Motella' e timbro di antica collezione in inchiostro. . .

Dedicato all'Illustrissimo Francesco Ferroni. Seconda edizione definitiva più completa della prima del 1603. Molto rara e importante per la vastità di argomenti e notizie. Vedi Riccardi I 478 : " Opera interessantissima per la storia dell' aritmetica, ampiamente sviluppata ed applicata anche alla mercatanzia; e per quella della geometria pratica, trovandovisi la descrizione e l'uso degli strumenti allora conosciuti, fra i quali sono notevoli quelli che ora direbbersi celerimensura. In 4to, mm. 1675x235, 1 carta bianca, con ex libris e nota manoscritta di vecchio proprietario + 12 carte non numerate + 551 pagine + 1 carta bianca finale. Molte illustrazioni xilografiche nel testo. Marca tipografica incisa al verso dell'ultima pagina di testo: Lupa che allatta i gemelli, nota manoscritta coeva di possesso, sull'occhietto. Esemplare in barbe, l'opera si occupa di aritmetica, calcolo degli interessi dei cambi, rivelazione delle misure. Legatura coeva in cartone grezzo editoriale, titolo manoscritto, restauro ben eseguito al piede del dorso, rimarginatura della parte bianca alle ultime due carte. Codice inv.3024527

Cartonatura coeva alla rustica con titolo calligrafato su tassello al dorso, qualche traccia del tempo al solo dorso). Centinaia fra tabelle, figure geometriche e vignette xilografiche intercalate nel testo, raffiguranti, tra l’altro, mappe, boschi, alberi, case, fiumi, strumenti di misurazione, chiese e campanili, botti da vino, fieno e legna. Testatine e fregi xilografici. Bell'esemplare, molto genuino, con belle carte senza difetti e con ampi margini. Alcuni fascicoli risultano parzialmente scuciti dall’insieme. Seconda edizione (la prima è del 1763) di importante trattato di agrimensura dedicato alla misurazione dei terreni, dei fiumi, dei confini, dei vasi vinari, del legname, dei mucchi di grano, alle tecniche per la corretta conservazione del fieno, etc. Tommaso Guerrino (Milano, 1733-1778) fu associato all’Accademia delle Belle Arti di Milano. Geometria pratica, in cui, i principj di essa, vi sono molti insegnamenti intorno alle varie misure di terre, acque, fieni, pietre, grani, fabbriche, ed altro, secondo l'uso di Verona, e di tutte l'altre principali città d'Italia, raccolti dalle Opere di molti Autori, e dall'Esperienza a comodo degli Studiosi di tal Professione. Sesta edizione, nella quale, oltre la divisione de' Terreni, si sono aggiunte ora per la prima volta fa un dotto Professore Critiche Annotazioni, nuovi calcoli.
Legatura coeva mezza pelle con angoli, dorso con nervi, tassello e titolo. Uqlache traccia del tempo agli angoli, due forellini di tarlo alle ultime due carte di indice ma nel complesso buona copia. Capilettera e testatine istoriate in xilografia, numerose incisioni xilografiche intercalate n.t. o a piena pag., due delle quali ripiegate tra le pagg. 36-37 e 40-41. Sesta edizione di questo trattato sulla geometria piana e i suoi metodi di misurazione secondo l'uso di Verona e di altri territori d'Italia, i solidi, le tecniche topografiche, cosmografiche, geografiche e topografiche, la misurazione delle acque e un'appendice per i geometri e per gli addetti alla costruzione in genere. L'opera fu molte volte riedita in seguito per la sua praticità e semplicità espositiva. Il Perini (Verona, 1685-1731) fu architetto ed ingegnere storico, notaio ed archivista. Sc. M.

Tagli rossi e sguardie marmorizzate policrome. Numerose figure silografiche e tabelle di computi intercalate n.t. Annotazioni di calcoli aritmetici di mano antica alla prima carta bianca. Altre annotazioni al verso dell'ultimo foglio bianco. Alcune bruniture marginali, ma esemplare ottimamente conservato. Seconda edizione (la prima è del 1699) di questo importante e rigoroso trattato di agrimensura del matematico Ozanam (Bouligneux, 1640-Parigi, 1717). Ebreo convertito al cristianesimo (appartenne alla stessa famiglia in cui vedrà la luce Frédéric Ozanam), autore di un trattato di matematica già alla precoce età di 15 anni, fu professore a Parigi e a Lione dopo aver abbandonato la carriera ecclesiastica cui il padre lo aveva destinato e, dal 1701, membro dell'Accademia delle Scienze. Fontenelle scrisse un elogio in suo onore (Eloge de M. Ozanam, in Histoire et mémoires de l'Académie des sciences 1717,111) e i suoi numerosi libri sui logaritmi, la gnomonica, le equazioni, il compasso, la trigonometria, l'algebra, alcuni dei quali encomiati nientemeno che dal grande Leibniz, si segnalano per acume e novità di analisi non meno che per perspicuità di stile. Tra di essi:"Table des sinus, tangentes, et sécantes" (Lyons, 1670); "Methode générale pour tracer des cadrans" (Paris, 1673); "Geometrie pratique" (Paris, 1684); "Traité des lignes du premier genre" (Paris, 1687); "De l'usage du compas" (Paris, 1688); "Dictionnaire mathématique" (Paris, 1691); "Cours de mathématiques" (Paris, 1693, 5 vols., tr. into English, London, 1712); "Traité de la fortification" (Paris, 1694); "Récréations mathématiques et physiques" (Paris, 1694, 2 vols., revised by Montucla, Paris, 1778, 4 vols., tr. by Hutton, London, 1803, 4 vols., revised by Riddle, London, 1844); "Nouvelle Trigonométrie" (Paris, 1698);"Nouveaux Eléments d'Algèbre" (Amsterdam, 1702); "La Géographie et Cosmographie" (Paris, 1711); "La Perspective" (Paris, 1711). Montucla dà su di lui questo giudizio nella sua History of Mathematics: "He promoted mathematics by his treatise on lines of second order; and had he pursued the same branch of research, he would have required a more solid reputation than by the publication of his Cours, Récréations, or Dictionnaire mathématique; but having to look to the support of himself and family, he wisely consulted the taste of his purchasers rather than his own".
