None was better known than Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle. In 1921 only Charlie Chaplin rivaled his popularity with adults and with kids Arbuckle was the greatest. Certainly few could ever hope to earn the million dollar a year salary that Paramont Pictures paid him. But from the heights of such dizzying success Arbuckle's fall was swift and sudden. One warm afternoon at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco "Fatty" Arbuckle and Virginia Rappe a film actress walked into the same bedroom; a week later Virginia Rappe lay dead and Arbuckle was charged with rape and murder. What followed was the most sensational and outrageous courtroom trial ever to come out of Hollywood--either on film or in real life. This book tells it all sparing none of the biggest Hollywood names of the day -- including Zukor Schenck Will Hays and an all star cast. First Edition. Hard Cover. ST. Martins Press,NY Publ hardcover
