The printer publisher Kurt Hans Volk (1884-1962) was born in Germany, and probably trained as a printer/typographer there. He worked for many years at N.W. Ayers in Philadelphia before starting his own typographic firm in 1927. He widely lectured on advertising typography and authored the important work: "Using Type Correctly."
