1999As New English Paperback. Pbo. Mint. Cr. 8vo. (20 x 14 cm). In English. 342 p. "This book is about the Hoax that nevre ends, of the believing creationists with the naturalist evolutionist heretics, of the muslims with other peoples-of-the-book, being an apt and forceful, a fully persuasionist semantic analysis of the Old Gospel, namely, The Torah. Its contents have been at dispute the past two millenia and one-half and its provides especially the true perspective on the Adliteration Harangue, namely, the possible corruption by The Jews of the Biblical Text. We then feel justified in hoping that it shall provide the flintstone of interreligious dialogue and cooperation. It comes near te being the full expression it the Quranic Enunciation, "Why, the Torah is a full account (of God's uncountable mysteries)" (6/154). All the postulations have been thoroughly substantiated from, verified against authentic, original textual material, namely, the Torah (Old Testament). So, then, this is a full mature venture to discuss the occult and the Revealed God.".

1946réf. 43547London: Nay-Idish teater 1946. Paperback. First edition. Original stapled paper wrappers 4to 16 4 pages including illustrations and photos. 29 cm. Text in Yiddish 16 pages and English 4 pages. Monthly periodical published by the New Yiddish Theater in London. Numbering was continuous despite the volume change with the start of the new calendar year. "In 1945 playwright producer and manager Abish Meisels staged an adaptation of Abraham Goldfaden's The Ten Commandments at the New Yiddish Theatre in the East End. An Austrian refugee Meisels immigrated to London in 1938. Five years later he walked down Adler Street and entered Adler Hall. He turned a key unlocking the doors to the New Yiddish Theatre. According to Meisels his mission was 'to present the best in Jewish drama; to keep alive the art of the Jewish theatre and to inculcate into the minds of the younger generation a love and appreciation of their lives customs and language.' .Meisels' production may have been salient for London's post-war Jewish community. Many of his 20-person company were refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe as were others of London's Jewish population. They found in Meisels' theatre as he put it a 'much needed cultural educational and social centre' and a sense of belonging. By the time Meisels opened his theatre in 1943 the Yiddish stage had been in existence for nearly 70 years. Its story began in 1876 when writer Abraham Goldfaden staged the first Yiddish theatrical productions in Romania and Russia. Yiddish plays were first performed in the UK in the 1880s concurrent with the mass migration of Yiddish-speaking Eastern European Jews to Britain. Between 1881 and 1914 nearly 120000 of these immigrants entered the country most settling in the East End. These Yiddish-speaking Jews brought with them the desire for entertainment in their native tongue. Meisels' company was the last theatre in Britain devoted to Yiddish productions. It followed the Hebrew Dramatic Club on Princes Street 1886-1887; the Pavilion Theatre onWhitechapel Road 1906-1934; the Temple of Art known as the Feinman Yiddish People's Theatre on Commercial Road; the Grand Palais on Commercial Road 1934-1970 and the Jewish National Theatre at Adler Hall 1936- 1939. The use of Yiddish declined asthe community became assimilated. In 1947 Meisels locked the doors to the NewYiddish Theatre for the last time." 1967Original Cloth. 8vo. 414 pages. 24 cm. First edition. In Yiddish. The Yeshiva. "The monumental, two-volume novel Tsemakh Atlas (19671968; translated as The Yeshiva) is Grade's richest work about the Musar world and its attempt to shape the ethical personality. Through the memorable character of Tsemakh Atlas, a tortured teacher of Musar who is trapped between its self-abnegating demands, the enticements of the secular world, and his own elemental desires, readers enter a universe of high religious ideals, intellectual and moral debate, and intense spiritual struggle. " - YIVO Encyclopedia. "Grade was one of the rare interpreters of yeshivah life in modern Yiddish literature, recreating the daily life of the yeshivah student with photographic accuracy, objectivity, and affection, and illustrating it with such scenes as rabbis discussing talmudic law, as in the novel Tsemakh Atlas" - EJ 2008. 1937réf. 35363New York; Posy-Shoulson Press 1937. 1st edition. Original Wraps. 4to. 4 171 2 23 pages. 28 cm. In Yiddish with English section and title page: Ten years Artef; published for the tenth anniversary of the Artef March 1937. Extensively illustrated publication for the tenth year anniversary of the radical Yiddish theatre company Artef: "the radical Yiddish dramatic troupe based in New York during the heyday of the Yiddish theater in America. Begun in the mid-1920s as a study group of amateur worker-actors at one time there were nine separate studios with over 120 students in the 1930s the troupe went professional putting on at least two and often three new plays per season. With such plays as Jacob Mostel 's Strike Shmuel Godiner 's Jim Kooperkop Avrum Vevioka 's Diamonds and Maxim Gorky 's Egor Bulychev and Dostigaev and Others Artef spread propaganda to the masses. Ideologically Artef was far left; its hope was a Communist society here in America. As a troupe its role was 'agit-prop' to agitate and propagandize to serve as the cultural representative of radical workers. In fact most of its tickets were pre-sold through worker unions and at least in its early years Artef gave presentations at political events. Its first large-scale production was Mass Play and Ballet of the Russian Revolution which appeared at the Lenin memorial celebration in Madison Square Garden on January 21 1928. Artef 's greatest artistic and commercial successes were connected with the talented productions of director Benno Schneider. Schneider who had been active in the Zionist Habima troupe in Moscow wed aesthetic excellence to revolutionary ideology with his interpretation of Aristocrats an adaptation of Sholem Aleichem 's Mentshn. Incidentally Schneider earned such a positive reputation with Artef that he received offers to direct on Broadway a promotion that cost the radical Yiddish theater dearly. The end of the Artef was gradual and its causes were closely associated with the reduced role of Yiddish in American life. But there were bright lights before the darkness. During the 'days of the Popular Front ' when the Communists formed associations with less radical leftist parties the Artef attracted a larger audience which led to an optimistic expansion that later was responsible for huge financial losses. The darkness occurred at the end of the thirties when the number of Yiddish speakers began to diminish. The last performance of the Artef was on July 7 1941." Review by Dr. Brian Horowitz of 'Yiddish Proletarian Theatre: The Art and Politics of the Artef 1925–1940 ' written by Edna Nahshon. Many of the actors and directors in Artef went on to establish solid careers on Broadway Hollywood and for those blacklisted overseas. Bound in brown velour wraps with gilt title.
