A comprehensive catalog has been published to accompany the exhibition "Tobias Rehberger. marsage" from October 28 to December 9 2011 in Deutscher Sparkassenverlag. In addition to the exhibits in the exhibition and the commissioned work "Who why with whom And why" which was created for the collection of Deutscher Sparkassenverlag a large number of works are shown that have been created in recent years and have not yet been published have been. These include for example "Slinky springs to fame" a work of art in the form of a 406-metre-long walkable bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal which was inaugurated in the summer of 2011. As is usual with Rehberger the artist himself determined the concept and design of the catalogue. The publication is laid out like a picture book: the layout consists of pure picture pages on strong paper. The thin smaller pages of text are inconspicuously inserted in several blocks. The catalog contains a foreword by Dr. Bernd Kobarg Chairman of the Management Board of the DSV Group Deutscher Sparkassenverlag contributions by Dr. Ulrike Groos director of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart and Christiane-Valerie Gerhold director of the DSV Kunstkontor in German and English. 1972Ex-library copy with usual stamps, call numbers and pocket. Dustjacket is protected in mylar. ; As fewer and fewer people learn to read ancient Greek, there is a need for a critical study of the most influential translations that have been made from the major works of ancient Greek literature. Mason’s monograph offers exactly that for readers of the "Iliad" and the "Odyssey. " More particularly, he presents a persuasive argument for reading Alexander Pope’s translation, his accompanying notes, and his "Essay on Criticism. " These merit careful study, for they illuminate Pope’s principles as a translator and constitute one of the most intelligent and penetrating commentaries on the poetic qualities of the epics ever written in English. Mason’s new insights, along with his stringent and lively comments, will bring readers closer to a real understanding of Homer, whether they read him in the original or come to him in translation for the first time. They will also find here a masterly appreciation of Pope. ; 216 pages
