King Wren: The Youth of Henry IV follows the young Henri of Navarre as he grows up amid the turmoil of Frances religious wars learning to navigate danger shifting loyalties and the brutal politics of a fractured kingdom. Mann presents Henri as resilient sharp-witted and shaped by exile and hardship gradually developing the qualities that will make him a unifying ruler.
