Bereits in seinen frÂhen weich gezeichneten Studien im Stil der 'Kunstphotographie' kristallisieren sich die wichtigsten Themenkreise Protrait Tanz Akt Plastik und Landschaft heraus. Imboden ging mit seinem Werk einen Weg zwischen Kunstphotographie und Neuer Photographie. Sein wichtigster Beitrag zur Geschichte der Schweizer Photographie sind seine Portraitaufnahmen. Mit kontrastreicher Beleuchtung ungewohnten Perspektiven und Bildausschnitten sowie subtiler Linien- und BlickfÂhrung richtete er den Spiegel in die Psyche seiner Modelle. Die eindrÂckliche Bildauswahl dieser Publikation bringt eine Annherung an den vergessenen groen Photographen und dokumentiert zugleich die Photographie der Zwischenkriegszeit auf eigenstndige Weise.
