1968 · rif. 000015833 — London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson 1968 1968. First Weidenfeld and Nicolson edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo. 9 x-xxxii 3 4-576 pp. Blue cloth with navy lettering on the spine. Price of 65s net on the front flap of the dust jacket. Jacket design by Steve Dwoskin. Translated by Walter Kaufmann and R.J. Hollingdale. Edited with new commentary by Walter Kaufman. With four double-sided plates of black and white photographs images of the original manuscript. The first U.K. edition of the Walter Kaufmann translation. The book was originally published after Nietzsche's death in 1901. The material collected here is drawn from notebooks Nietzsche kept during his lifetime. The work has a controversial history largely because Nietzsche's views in these writings were grossly distorted by Nazis and were used to fuel their propaganda. A small push to the top textblock the publisher has blacked out a line on the copyright page; jacket with a few traces of edge wear and a wrinkle to the laminate of the front panel.
