Mentre il primo volume conteneva le parti relative all'introduzione e al concetto della religione, questo volume presenta al lettore italiano la seconda parte dei corsi hegeliani, quella dedicata alle religioni non-cristiane (La religione determinata). Anche in questo caso la traduzione segue l'edizione critica tedesca curata da Walter Jaeschke, che riporta separatamente il testo del manoscritto approntato da Hegel per il corso del 1821 e il testo delle lezioni del 1824, 1827 e 1831, così come è stato ricostruito dal curatore sulla base dei quaderni di appunti dei partecipanti ai corsi - cosa che consente di avere una visione d'insieme dello sviluppo della riflessione filosofiico-religiosa di Hegel nel periodo berlinese. Il secondo volume dell’edizione critica delle Lezioni di filosofia della religione di Hegel contiene i testi delle lezioni dedicate dal filosofo alla trattazione della storia delle religioni non-cristiane, durante i quattro corsi di filosofia della religione tenuti da Hegel all’Università di Berlino. La finalità del libro è quella di mostrare come si sia venuto configurando, nelle diverse religioni storiche, il rapporto tra Dio e l’Uomo. Il testo, secondo volume di Georg Wilhelm Hegel, Vorlesungen über die Philosophie der Religion, a cura di Walter Jaeschke, è tradotto per la prima volta in italiano dagli studiosi Stefania Achella, Franco Gilli, Mariafilomena Anzalone, Roberto Garaventa.
