While in high school and college Dr. Italia started weight training and bodybuilding. He attended college for exercise science and knew he was destined for the health care field. He had a surgeon father and nurse mother. He originally thought he'd be a medical doctor until he encountered a chiropractor who helped him with an injury. A shoulder problem left Dr. Italia unable to train and compete in bodybuilding. He sought chiropractic care and found he was much better after a few weeks. Chiropractic was natural with his belief in fitness nutrition and body health. Dr. Italia studied at Springfield College in Springfield Massachusetts. He then attended National University of Health Sciences near Chicago Illinois. There he learned how to practice a medicine-based chiropractic practice using physical therapy supplements diagnostic testing and more to provide effective care. Continuing to learn is a vital part of Dr. Italia's practice philosophy. He has earned numerous degrees including two bachelor's degrees a master's degree and a Ph.D. in addition to his Doctor of Chiropractic. Additionally he is licensed by Connecticut as a nutritionist. As the chiropractic physician for the American Bodybuilding Team in the 1990s Dr. Italia traveled to Italy for competitions. He has also worked with elite athletes including top-ranked boxers. Teaching has also been a part of Dr. Italia's career. If you've ever struggled to comprehend the vast amounts of information available on the subjects of health and wellness you'll appreciate The Ageless Advantage: Your Complete Resource for Living Longer Through Diet and Lifestyle. Author Gary Italia has selected gems of advice from the medical and scientific communities and presented them in an easy-to-understand question-and-answer format. Each of more than twenty chapters concludes with a summary of key points and all key points are compiled in a master plan at the end of the book for easy reference. There are tips here for people of all ages and seriousness of purpose. Whether you make just a few changes or all of those suggested you will enjoy the benefits of life-lengthening choices. 1990rif. 82771Boston: Twayne Publishers 1990. First Printing Stated. Trade paperback. Very good. xvi 206 pages. Maps. Notes. Epilogue: reflections on a war. Chronology. Bibliographical Essay. Index. This is one of Twayne's International History Series. The volumes in this series critically assess United States foreign relations since 1945 by presenting both historical and contemporary information on the effect that U.S. politics and economics have had on a multitude of areas around the world. Each volume is an authoritative readable account by a preeminent historian and includes: A concise chronology of major events Background on pre-1945 history Details on the development and impact of U.S. foreign policy Explication of themes in postwar international relations Insights into the effects of U.S. policy on people worldwide. Gary R. Hess is Distinguished Research Professor of History at Bowling Green State University. He is a past president of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations and a former chair of the U.S. State Department's Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation. His publications include Vietnam and the United States: Origins and Legacy of War 1941-1945 and Presidential Decisions for War: Korea Vietnam and the Persian Gulf. "If there is an overall theme to this study it relates to the American response to the Vietnamese Communist revolution or more specifically to the August Revolution which in 1945 brought Ho Chi Minh and his movement to prominence and power. Throughout the several phases of U.S. involvement - the support of the French war effort the fostering of an independent South Vietnam the years of intense warfare and the postwar hostility - the American opposition to the Vietnamese revolution has been unrelenting. How a Communist revolution in such a relatively obscure and economically backward county came to be perceived as a challenge to U.S. national security can be answered in part but enough uncertainty remains that it continues to be an intriguing question and one with long-range implications for U.S. foreign policy"--Preface.
