1909ref. 521039London: Religious Tract Society 1909. . 173 pages 24 black and white plates spine faded edges foxed. The text of this book uses the name of Pogius. Poggio Bracciolini 1380-1459 wrote about Jerome of Prague but it is believed that this book about Hus first appeared in German in about 1845 and that it is not genuine Salomon: Poggio Bracciolini and Johannes Hus: A Hoax Hard to Kill Journal of the Warburg and Courtauld Institutes 1956. As far as I can tell this is the first edition in English and is now scarce though other editions under different titles have appeared since. Cloth. Average Plus. Religious Tract Society Hardcover
1820ref. 4569Paris: Chez Martinet 1820. A lovely copy of this scarce cartoon. Unsigned but the initials LL. are printed to the lower right of the plate. We are unable to find a caricaturist with those initials Leander always signed his work. A gentleman is bowing to a couple approaching him. The lady tips her parasol. All are dressed as dandies. Attractive hand colouring. To the bottom left of the pate it is written in ink "Chez Martinet". A clean print with just a little marking / darkening to the sheet. Tipped onto a slightly larger piece of stiff card. A very nice item. Plate is 32cm x 24cm. The backing card is 35.5cm x 30cm. First edition. .

1900ref. 5031056n.a.: n.p. 1900. Soft cover. Fine. Silver gelatin print of fly fisherman at edge of water practicing his casting. Likely late 19th C or early 20th C; also possibly Ontario Canada as that is where I acquired this photo. Mat size 6 7/8" x 8 7/8". Image size 3 1/8" x 5 1/8". A few tiny dark spots left side of photo only seen against the light. Lower bottom of mat from the left has a wedge of fading running triangularly downward toward the middle. The fisherman is in very sharp focus and the landscape background not in focus. I'm not a photography historian but to me it might fit into the period of Pictorialism. A nice catch if you are a fly-fisherman with interest in an earlier period. n.p. unknown
