Mais on soutiendra avec Emmanuel Levinas une thèse audacieuse presque extravagante qui consiste à tempérer l'ardeur et l'âpreté de la relation éthique à l'autre homme par la recherche d'une mesure commune d'ordre politique. L'homme est rappelé à l'ordre de la mesure à chaque fois qu'il met en péril l'élément humain qui fait la chair de nos vies en relation. Encore faut-il être vigilant : l'humanité déborde son genre et résiste à toute définition. L'humanité en chaque homme n'est pas nécessairement prise dans une lutte à mort et il est permis de penser le politique en dehors des catégories héritées de Hegel ou de Hobbes. A travers la confrontation avec ces classiques de la philosophie politique on verra se dessiner la leçon d'Emmanuel Levinas. Cet essai peut se lire comme une introduction à l'oeuvre de Levinas mais aussi bien comme une série de variations. Il peut également fournir les prémisses des philosophies de l'humanité pour notre temps. Au-delà du simple commentaire il interroge nos ressources vives pour relever le défi de la précarité de notre condition. A propos de l'auteur : Jean-François Rey est agrégé de philosophie et docteur en Sciences Politiques. Il enseigne la philosophie à l'IUFM Nord-Pas-de-Calais. en EXCELLENT ETAT quasi neuf

2018Il volume si propone di approfondire alcuni temi fondamentali della filosofia di Emmanuel Levinas, con particolare riferimento alla questione della sensibilità, che ha assunto notevole rilevanza nel dibattito fenomenologico contemporaneo. La riflessione levinasiana sull’alterità è stata oggetto di ampie analisi, ma non è stata ancora adeguatamente valorizzata la sua rivisitazione della soggettività in termini di sensibilità e passività, sviluppata soprattutto in Autrement qu'être e negli scritti tardi. Levinas individua l’origine della significazione etica nel sentire del soggetto, che avverte una responsabilità alla quale non può sottrarsi: la prossimità dell’altro ridesta infatti il trauma che ha colpito il soggetto nella «diacronia», in un tempo non recuperabile dalla coscienza.
