1971réf. 1028B7New York City; Tokyo Japan: Grossman Publishers; Mushinsha Limited 1971. First edition. Paperback. Very Good. 10.5" by 6". None. The first U.S. edition of this delightful selection of the translated prose poetry of Francis Ponge. First U.S. edition. In the publisher's original soft covers. An amusing selection of the poetry of Francis Ponge translated from the original French by Cid Corman. Although famously rejecting the label of "poet" Ponge is best remembered for pioneering a form of prose poem which examined everyday objects in extreme detail. This work includes titles such as "Proem" "Nature Piscem Doses" and "The Spider". In the publisher's original soft covers. Externally smart with slight shelf wear leading to a few small closed tears to the edges. Light discolouration and a few marks to both front and rear and the spine a little creased. Inside front cover features an additional price sticker. Internally firmly bound. Very bright and clean with the odd spot only mainly contained to the first and last few pages. Very Good Grossman Publishers; Mushinsha Limited paperback
