From a review by LAUREN B. RESNICK in Contemporary Psychology: APA Review of Books 1979 Vol 243 191-192: "In Search of the IQ Correlation: A Scientific Whodunit by Renée Fuller 1977. This book reports a study in which a small number of severely retarded people learned to read using a method that according to the author makes demands upon inferential and other intellectual abilities generally thought to be absent in these people. On the basis of this surprise finding the author calls into question both the validity of IQ tests and the theory of human intellectual functioning on which she claims these tests rest." -- PsycINFO Database Record c 2006 APA. From a 1979 review by David S. Goh: "The practice of intelligence testing has become a subject of controversy and social concern in recent years. Problems concerning the proper use of IQ tests have been widely debated." -- Psychology & Schools. Vol 16 #2 April 1979. . 1st ed No additional printings listed. Hardcover. 1943rif. 308108Washington DC: United States Office of Price Administration 1943. Ephemera. Very good. During the Second World War posters like this one hung in most of the grocery stores in the United States but few of them have survived. A key homefront concern of the federal government was runaway inflation which had posed a significant economic problem during World War One. In addition to rationing the federal government implemented price controls for projects in high demand and short supply. Stores were not supposed to charge more than the posted price and there was a corresponding campaign to convince shoppers not to pay more. This poster is likely from Richmond Virginia rather than the eponymous city in California. It covers meat dairy products and many name brands of groceries. 32 by 24 inches. A very good copy with light chipping to the edges and some minor splits to the folds. SHIPS FOLDED. This is an original World War II poster not a reproduction.
