1954Documentation which has scarcely seen the light of day since the 1950s. This booklet, printed for the use of the committee, includes pages 468-491 and 611-620 from the printed hearings. Contains a chilling flowchart indicating the path of power down from the foundations through education, government, and subsequently down through their many subsidiary organizations. 1954A document which should have rocked the USA to its core but was squelched by the very powers it exposed. In the course of her duties as legal analyst for the Committee, Kathryn Casey was granted access to the archived minutes of the board of directors of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. According to the Committee's Research Director Norman Dodd, it was here that Ms. Casey discovered the board's conclusion that the best way to create world government, and permanent peace, was to involve the United States in a terrible war. The Reece Committee and its findings came to prominence decades later when Norman Dodd, Research Director for the Committee, came forward with stunning revelations of the Committee's findings. Printed for the use of the committee, this booklet contains pages 627-665b from the printed hearings. Includes 20 tables, 12 charts and 10 data sheets. Moderate wear. Unmarked. Crease to lower corner. A sound copy of this powerful document. Book

2017br.

8vo, hardcover in dj. 352pp. The Second World War was the defining moment in the history of the Soviet Union. With Stalin at the helm, it emerged victorious at a huge economic and human cost. But even before the fighting had ended, Stalin began to turn against the architects of success. In this original and comprehensive study, Alfred J. Rieber examines Stalin as a wartime leader, arguing that his policies were profoundly paradoxical. In preparation for the war, Stalin mobilized the whole of Soviet society in pursuit of his military goals and intensified the centralization of his power. Yet at the same time, his use of terror weakened the forces vital to the defense of the country. In his efforts to rebuild the country after the devastating losses and destruction, he suppressed groups that had contributed immeasurably to victory. His steady, ruthless leadership cultivated a legacy that was to burden the Soviet Union and Russia to the present day.
