1879réf. 2507053n.p.: European and American Views company 1879. Original. Hardcover. Very Good. Original VIGILANTES PRESUMED STEREOCARD CA 1870s. Issued by the European and American Views company which Yellowstone Stereoview website says had an unknown publisher. "Presumed" means that when this card or same image from another company has appeared in the past it has been assumed to be Montana vigilantes but I have not drilled down deep enough to find out for sure. Six or perhaps seven riders are in the photo and one is holding a rope with supposedly a hanging tree in the background. I have been told the rider on the left is too long-legged to be the famed rancher and vigilante chaser X. Biedler but there is a likeness and the coat with one button which is buttoned is similar to portrait of Biedler by D. F. Barry. European and American Views company hardcover
