1980réf. B349London: Sidgwick & Jackson 1980. First UK edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine. Richard Nixon was of course the only US President to resign as a result of the infamous Watergate scandal of the early 1970's. He then left public office but continued to write several books of commentary mostly on international affairs. In this volume he examined the forces contending for power in the world at the time assessed their goals strategies and relative strengths and weaknesses and weighed the implications of trends. This UK first edition has an introduction by Nixon that is not in the US edition. Very good in red cloth with black and gilt titles on the spine. Signed by Nixon on a publisher's bookplate opposite the title page. Some staining on the endpaper map and the bookplate from deterioration of the glue used on the bookplate. A corner of the bookplate is loose. Slight foxing on the page edges but no other marks or damage. The unclipped DJ is near fine in a protective plastic cover. Sidgwick & Jackson hardcover
