réf. 45982The California representative and senator went on to serve as Dwight Eisenhower's vice president 1953-61 and was then elected thirty-seventh president of the United States a controversial tenure ending in the only presidential resignation in American history. Original Drawing Signed 1p 8½" X 11" n.p. n.d. circa 1960. Very good. Faintly age toned and even more faintly edgeworn with three small marks down left margin not affecting holograph portion or likeness. Boldly pencilled head-and-shoulders portrait by an unidentified amateur artist boldly inscribed and signed in black ink at lower left: "To Donald Burnell / with best wishes / from / Richard Nixon." Attractive and most unusual in this form -- signed right around the period of his disastrous debates with presidential contender Kennedy. unknown
