1822réf. 147492St. Petersburg Russia: Imperial Commission of the Sinking Fund 1822. Rare Russian Imperial bond signed by banker and Lord of Finance Nathan Mayer Rothschild. Quarto two pages partially printed in three languages the document is dated March 1 1822 and certifies the bearer is entitled to 720 rubles with a 5% annuity. Signed in ink by Rothschild at the upper right. In very good condition with light toning a few losses and closed tears. Nathan Mayer Rothschild was an English-German banker businessman and financier a symbol of a new type of social elite - the Lord of Finance. Founder of the English branch of the prominent Rothschild family Rothschild gained his power by dealing in gold bullion subsidizing British allies and issuing bonds for government loans a mainstay of his bank's business. He gained a position of such power in the City of London that by 1825–1826 he was able to supply enough coin to the Bank of England to enable it to avert a liquidity crisis. The bond system was a revolutionary development in financing due to the high liquidity of assets that the land-based system lacked. Imperial Commission of the Sinking Fund unknown

A crocheted wool coat of exuberant textures and glowing colors a dyed and pleated silk vest of baroque sensuousness a headdress of ribbon intricately ruched in the shape of a leaping fish an evening gown made from shredded dollar bills a kimono that carries art appliquéd on its sleeve—these are just a few of the beautiful imaginative even surreal works of wearable art included in this richly illustrated book published to accompany an exhibition at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Melissa Leventon shows that wearable art is the latest in the long line of aesthetic dress reforms that began with the Arts and Crafts movement. She then traces the history of this art form as it developed out of the hippie styles and studio fiber art of the 1960s and 1970s until today highlighting many of the leading practitioners and discussing its characteristic forms and processes. The works brought together range from pieces that are only technically wearable to one-of-a-kind works that are at home either on one's back or on one's wall to limited-edition luxury clothing. Artwear will be invaluable to fashion designers and students art and textiles professionals craftspeople and anyone with an interest in the fashion world. Stratford-on-Avon. He is considered the greatest playwright who ever lived. Life His father John Shakespeare was successful in the leather business during Shakespeare's early childhood but later met with financial difficulties. During his prosperous years his father was also involved in municipal affairs holding the offices of alderman and bailiff during the 1560s. While little is known of Shakespeare's boyhood he probably attended the grammar school in Stratford where he would have been educated in the classics particularly Latin grammar and literature. Whatever the veracity of Ben Jonson's famous comment that Shakespeare had "small Latine and less Greeke" much of his work clearly depends on a knowledge of Roman comedy ancient history and classical mythology. In 1582 Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway eight years his senior and pregnant at the time of the marriage. 1932375 pages. Index. "When I began my study I looked upon Woodrow Wilson as the villain of the ensuing drama. As I proceeded to delve into the debris of reminiscences and unwritten history, he gradually assumed some aspects of a martyr and a saint. There was a time when there was no one in the world whom I distrusted more than Edward Mandell House. Today he seems to me a genuine philosopher and a gifted statesman. Even if his good intentions, like Wilson's, have helped to pave mankind's way to hell, they gave us a glimpse of the Promised Land where peace abides and a new sanction governs the fate of nations." - xiv. It is commonly believed that Colonel House was in fact a Rothschild agent, assigned the task of seeing the Federal Reserve Act brought into law, thus privatizing the issuance of American money (again). If so, this book is of major importance to every American. Gift greetings, dated 1932, upon front free endpaper else unmarked. Binding intact. Above-average wear and soiling to tan cloth-covered boards. Narrow openings in cloth between backstrip and back board. Book

Most notable for its frank admission that there is in fact a secret plan to create a global government. Author served as mentor to Bill Clinton while the latter studied at Georgetown. Usual library markings. Average wear. Binding intact. Dust jacket now preserved in glossy new archival-grade Brodart. A sound copy of the true first printing. WEEMS p.69. Book
