réf. 25470Dated from Rugby 26 February with '1862' noted in blue pencil. An amusing piece of Victorian memorabilia. Written in pencil on one side of a slip of paper roughly 14 x 7 cm torn from the bottom of a leaf. Both sides of the paper are ruled with the ruling on the reverse wider spaced. Confirming the fact that the item is a telegram is the fact that the word ‘Clerk.’ is printed at bottom right of the reverse with the word ‘Railway’ in pencil at top right. The puzzling text of the telegram no doubt in the hand of the telegram clerk reads with annotation ‘1862’: ‘Rugby / From Prince Alfred to The Queen / Osborne / I hope to be at Southampton about nine o clock. And wish the Fairy to be sent there to wait for me. / 26 Feby’. See Image. Dated from Rugby, 26 February, with '1862' noted in blue pencil. unknown

1913réf. CJSBLZ131913. Good. . This book details the largest battle in Europe before World War I - The Battle of Leipzig also known as the Battle of Nations in 1813 during the Napoleonic war. It's aftermath led to the dissolution of the early German Confederation of the Rhine which was assembled by Napoleon as a French client state and the eventual retreat on all fronts of the French Empire during the Sixth Coalition War.It is a series of excerpts from notes and diaries from the files of the War Archives of the Great General Staff and the Secret State Archives in Berlin the State Archives in Breslau and from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London.Ex private military library stock so in better condition than most library books. Expect to see sparse library marks and annotations in the text. Cover and binder in good condition with few markings for its considerable age as is the spine. No dust jacket. There is heavier wear on the spine header. Quick flickthrough of book shows a few signs of annotations other than some typical library stamps on the inner initial pages. Robust copy. Hardcover. 2009réf. BN43293Endisch Dirk 2009. 2009. Hardcover.
