Christoph Schminck-Gustavus (1942) was appointed in 1973 to the newly founded University of Bremen. There he engaged in teaching in the field of methodology and legal history. His research interests are in the areas of fascism, World War II , occupation and resistance . He spent several years researching in Italy and Greece and dealt primarily with war crimes In 1984 he was awarded the Cultural and Peace Prize of the Villa Ichon in Bremen.
