Con questo lavoro vorrei mettere a disposizione del lettore un tentativo di accostarmi alla neuroestetica di Semir Zeki abbozzato in occasione di un convegno organizzato da Gian Franco Frigo e Fabio Grigenti del Dipartimento di Filosofia dell'Università di Padova. Il convegno svoltosi nei giorni 9 e 10 giugno del 2006 portava come titolo: 'Anthropos: origine, sviluppo (e fine?) di un concetto'. Elaborato sulla scia di una precedente ricerca, 'Che cosa può un uomo? Potenzialità biologica, selezione naturale e cervello da Paul Valéry a Gerald M. Edelman' (Torino, 2005), il mio intervento cercava di interrogarsi criticamente sulla neuroestetica a partire non solo dalla relazione fra estetica filosofica e neuroestetica, ma anche dalla genesi neuronale della nostra poliedrica potenzialità estetica.
