1932réf. 20xcgNew York: Nacio Herb Brown 1932. Sheet music. Very Good. Soft cover. Signed by Pola Negri. '.he takes me to PARADISE' --- sung by Pola Negri. POLA NEGRI - SIGNED 1932 "PARADISE" SHEET MUSIC FROM A WOMAN COMMANDS POLA NEGRI. Paradise. 1932. Sheet music for the song performed by Pola Negri in the pre-Code film A Woman Commands starring Negri and Basil Rathbone. Signed by Pola Negri. An especially striking piece of early-1930s Hollywood ephemera featuring an arresting RKO-Radio Presentation cover portrait of Negri in full command of her screen persona. The expressionist composition rendered in saturated color presents the international film star as glamorous imperious and overtly sensual-an image perfectly attuned to the provocative atmosphere of pre-Code Hollywood. Negri's performance of "Paradise" is the featured musical attraction making the sheet music an unusually direct piece of promotional material connecting Negri's signature persona her voice and her film career. Signed by Negri it is an evocative survivor from the brief period when silent-film royalty was adapting to the talking-picture era. Edges with wear and light handling; nevertheless bright colorful and visually compelling with the cover presenting exceptionally well. A desirable piece of Pola Negri and pre-Code Hollywood memorabilia combining celebrity autograph film history music and one of the period's most dramatic star portraits. . Nacio Herb Brown Paperback
