1974203 pages including index and several black and white photographic plates. Gives an up-to-date approach to an ancient art, in which hypnosis is regarded as a potent and multi-faceted tool which can be used to modify patient-reactions resulting from surgery and complex treatments, such as coronary care and renal dialysis. Obstetrics and dentistry excepted, its use to replace normal anaesthetic methods is nearly obsolete today. The hospital doctor who realizes the reciprocal effects of severe illness on his patient's psyche yet deprecates the routine use of tranquilizers, will find this book invaluable. Book in excellent condition; clean, lightly worn and unmarked. Dust jacket bears a variety of smallish tears at edges and has chips missing. Book

(ADB).
