1984Book shows very minor shelf wear to covers, water damage causing a wave to about 1" into the top of the page block for about the 1st half of the block. Doesn't affect the prints. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Chapters include: The miniature as illustration, Painting in the Fatimid period, Painting under the Turkmans, The earlier Safavid period, The later Safavid period, Post-Safavid painting, Painting in Turkey, Islamic paining in India, the Qur'an, calligraphy and illumination, etc. 220 pages with b&w and color prints throughout.

2003Miniature book: 2 1/8"w x 3 1/8"h. Many small prints of Ryden's Blood paintings featured in the artist's 2003 exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles at the Earl MacGrath Galleries. Gore and idealized children's big-eyed innocence/sexuality mixed together in disturbing juxtaposition with bees, bunnies, tears and meat. Exhibition list at back. Signed and dated on title page, comes with two tickets to 11/2004 exhibit at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. Stamped #15222 on the last page. Limited Edition.

"Thumb-nail Series" sheet laid-in at back with list of other books. Fragile, front cover is barely attached, spine showing signatures at top and bottom.
