réf. 40640Circa 1913. Carbon print photograph 130 x 100 mm laid down on board mount with imprint of Monteath Melb. inscribed on mount 'To R.H. Croll with sincere regards John Shirlow. Octr. 1913' the carbon print in fine condition one tiny blemish at upper left edge the mount with some very light foxing scattered across the lower section. This studio portrait of the Melbourne etcher John Shirlow was presented by him to his close friend the literary figure R.H. Croll who would later contribute to two publications on the artist Etchings Sydney 1917 and Etched Work of John Shirlow Melbourne 1920. unknown
