1952rif. 31035London: Geoffrey Bles. Very Good- in Fair dj. First Edition. Hardcover. price-clipped light shelfwear spine slightly turned a bit of soiling to the edges of the text block old tape marks on both pastedowns possibly this was a lending-library copy one-time owner's initials plus date & place of purchase in ink along edge of rear pastedown concealed beneath jacket flap; the jacket itself is well-worn and has been amateurishly "patched" to fill in missing bits of paper loss mostly surrounding the top of the spine and has a great deal of internal tape reinforcement; both flaps have also been slightly trimmed probably to eliminate old tape stains but with no loss of content. small map Another "murders mountains" mystery this author's third in the same vein. "The Cauldmoor Hotel was much frequented by young hikers and climbers of both sexes who in spite of the vagaries of its highly eccentric warden regarded it as a most desirable holiday resort. Then came a series of mysterious accidents. This mystery engaged the attention of that eminent actor Mr. Abercombie Lewker who is already known to the author's readers as a climber and criminologist in no way hampered by hs excessive adiposity." . 1952.
