1960réf. 1195London: Faber 1960. 1st UK 1st impression. Hardback. Very good/Fine. A boy from the Cumbrian mountains goes off to fight in the Napoleonic Wars. Part of Styles' hugely popular Midshipman Quinn series. This book is in very good condition with only the top edge a little dusty and a little discolouration to the front hinge. There is an ex libris sticker to the publisher's page. The impressive jacket is fine with only a slight mark to the rear. Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics. Faber unknown
