1815Best.-Nr. 002886London: Williams and Sons 1815. Third edition. Half Calf Marbled Boards. Very Good Minus. 8vo. 234 1 pp. A rant against the theater linking it to Paganism and speaking of its many supposed invidious effects on man's character. The work is nonetheless tightly reasoned and it certainly offers a window onto the hostility towards the theater expressed by many a preacher and religious sect well into the nineteenth century. Rubbing of the joints and general wear to the binding. Corner stains to the endpapers and some light foxing in the prelims. Williams and Sons unknown
