Balance of approximately 65 leaves consist of actual colour samples of vintage 1939 Eaton's wallpaper, complete with their pricing and description/sales blurb on backside. Above-average wear. Bit of writing inside back cover. Front cover almost loose. A worthy copy of this incredibly nostalgic item - which will serve as a superb reference one day when what was old becomes new again... 1970This is a very good hardcover copy with samples of real wallpapers tipped-in. Large sample book of Scalamandre wallpaper and a few coordinated fabric samples. These designs are what you think of when you recall late 60's early 70's interiors. Lots of hot colors like fuchsia, lime green, chrome yellow, etc. in contrasting patterns. Both geometric and floral designs. Many "OP-art" effects, embossed foils with velour, flowers floating on Chinese-looking geometric backgrounds. Each design is typically shown in several color combinations. Some names of designs are "Jester", "Oriental Letters", "Sea Swirl", "Peacock Feathers". This catalog was used and some pages are missing, but still a great find. Also contains wholesale price list and suggestions for co-ordinating fabrics and rugs. Large folio, 18" high X 14" wide. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.

ref. 79029Amsterdam Rath & Doodeheefver 1938. Folio 30.8 x 24.0 cm. 116 wallpaper samples numbered on versos and additional interior illustrations. Original cloth binding with full-colour photoprint mounted on the front board and title in brown on the front board and spine. Typed 1939 price list mounted on front board verso. = A large complete copy of a wallpaper catalogue with many fine examples of wallpaper in various styles en vogue just before WWII. Peculiar and perhaps a novelty are the occasional interior view drawings with a cut out of the walls each showing the wallpaper sample. Rath and Doodeheefver was a leading Amsterdam-based firm founded in 1890 and active until its sudden bankruptcy in 1998 after wallpaper rather quickly fell out of fashion. Boards a bit soiled and worn with some staining; the printed year 1938 both on the spine and front board crossed out and replaced by '1939' in blue crayon; the interior leaves with cutouts a bit damp stained in their right margins a few samples a bit creased in lower outer corners otherwise fine. ref. 70580The Netherlands unknown firm ca. 1910. Various sizes. Height between 10 and 32 centimetres; five rolls each with a length of more than 5 metres 547 618 621 690 and 695 cm. Colour-printed and pochoir some with additional hand-colouring. = A nice varied collection of wallpapers in different sizes and styles some romantic e.g. with roses others extravagant with multiple colourful flowers and birds yet others with dazzling geometric patterns. Several are in the style of the "Amsterdamse School" a style transitional between Jugendstil and Art Deco. A few with some creases and folds but mostly in a good condition. All five are quite long and all could still be applied. Seven similar shorter rolls 21-297 cm added. An inspirational set.
