Original cloth binding with full-colour photoprint mounted on the front board and title in brown on the front board and spine. Typed 1939 price list mounted on front board verso. = A large complete copy of a wallpaper catalogue with many fine examples of wallpaper in various styles en vogue just before WWII. Peculiar and perhaps a novelty are the occasional interior view drawings with a cut out of the walls each showing the wallpaper sample. Rath and Doodeheefver was a leading Amsterdam-based firm founded in 1890 and active until its sudden bankruptcy in 1998 after wallpaper rather quickly fell out of fashion. Boards a bit soiled and worn with some staining; the printed year 1938 both on the spine and front board crossed out and replaced by '1939' in blue crayon; the interior leaves with cutouts a bit damp stained in their right margins a few samples a bit creased in lower outer corners otherwise fine. A very good copy. hardcover
