Onder meer C.J. van dern Berg en H.J. Rozendaal waren de oprichters. Heemaf fuseerde in 1963 met Hazemeyer Smit Slikkerveer en Willem Smit & Co. tot Holec N.V. Later ging het op in grotere combinaties zoals Alstom en delen kwamen bij ABB terecht.
