Single sheet letterhead that has a typed letter signed on the recto and a color 'Salt Lake City: The Center of Scenic America' graphic on the verso. The letter is from the Secretary for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Joseph H. Rayburn and is a reply for a request of information from a prospective tourist. "Permit me to call to your attention the fact that Salt Lake City is a geographical center of importance to investors as well as tourists. From Denver on the east to San Francisco on the west - a distance of about1500 miles - there is no great distributing point but Salt Lake City. Double-page map at center showing locations of various points of interest. Light soiling and with light wear to extremities along with rusting at staples and rubbing to spine. Very good. Begins with a history and overview of Utah followed by extensive tour of Temple Block consisting of the Assembly Hall Tabernacle the Temple the Sea Gull Monument etc. Contains information on the Mormon Religion their ordinances rules for marriage organization of the church Tabernacle Choir symbols the Angel of Moroni and the Book of Mormon. Describes Utah’s public schools climate agricultural industry mineral wealth and sightseeing opportunities. Tells the “Sea Gull Story” and gives the history of Sea Gull Monument. First edition. 9" x 24" sheet folded to 12 panels. 2 pictorial cover panels showing the Mormon Tabernacle on one panel and a transportation car on the other both printed in orange black blue and gray. A promotional piece offering 6 panels with brief descriptions and fares for separate tours: Bingham and copper mines Saltair Beach Seeing the city City and Wasatch Drive Mt. Timpanogos Circle and Cottonwood Canyon. At the head are twenty different images on various Salt Lake tourist destinations. The reverse offers a 4 panel pictorial bird's eye map of the Salt Lake Valley and noting routes of various tours. Light soiling and with some splitting and a few short closed tears at the folds.
