Édition originale française. Le vicomte Valentia embarqua en 1802 avec l'archéologue Salt pour découvrir l'Abyssinie et repérer à la demande de l'Angleterre un lieu éventuel pour la construction d'un port en mer Rouge. Bascom M.D. was also a practicing physician who extolled the health benefits of the Salt Lake City climate the nearby sulphur springs and the waters of the Great Salt Lake.
