rif. 16971No date. Near Fine single page from watermarked Hotel Belles-Rives paper typed and boldly signed by Marc Chagall. Toning to bottom edge of paper minimal wear very well-preserved. One corrected typed character covered with white-out. An unusual and emotive artist statement/poem by Chagall based on his work "The Apparition 1917-1918" describing in beautiful imagery a "dream" "evoked" in Chagall. Chagall had reported that the painting was based his memory of a dream while a student; this statement either stands in captivating juxtaposition with that original dream or is an allusion to or perhaps description of that dream. Lovely rare unique. Certificate of Authenticity included. Image in listing of painting for illustrative purposes only; no prints etc. included. unknown
