Limited edition of which this is number four hundred and fourteen. Volume one is illustrated with four plates and numerous in-text images. Volume two is illustrated with ten plates and numerous in-text images. Collated complete. A bibliographical essays on rare books about Brazil published from 1504 to 1900 as well as works of Brazilian authors published abroad before the Independence of Brazil in 1822. Written by Rubens Borba de Moraes a Brazilian librarian bibliographer bibliophile historian researcher and separatist. He was also the founder of the newspaper O Separatista which defended the independence of the state of Sao Paulo in 1932. In the original cloth binding. Externally sound with light rubbing and damp marks to the extremities. Fading to the spine. Front joint held by cords only to volume two. Internally firmly bound. Pages are very bright with minor age toning to the extremities and endpapers. The odd ink mark or annotation. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper of volume one.
