Brown cloth cover worn with rubbing notably near corners near spine corner bumps and some light splotches. Spine ends frayed. Name date and minor notes to front blank pages. Blue endpapers unmarked with some wrinkling at a crack/split at hinge of front endpapers. Text unmarked and pages intact with some edge wear and aging. Gilt title and decorations intact on cover and spine. Plum Adirondack Bibliography number 7244. Please see image. 176 pages. Note that this edition has 176 pages fewer than the later 1882 and other Houghton Mifflin editions which added two chapters and which have 226 pages. All Houghton - whether Houghton Osgood or Houghton Mifflin - editions were issued in varying cover colors - red green brown - but all with the same blind stamped design. Harry Warner was a long-time SF fan who published 11 stories and several books particularly "All Our Yesterdays" a history of early SF fandom and "A Wealth of Fable" covering the 1950's which won the Hugo Award in 1993 for Best Related Book.
