Yet with its descriptions of pioneer life and the events that helped mold the author's character it accomplishes much more than the average autobiography. In fact though perhaps as much by accident as design it also affords readers a rare glimpse into the social cultural and economic development of the Ootsa Lake B.C. area - and for this reason if no other should be read." - Foreword. "Blackwell was a member of the First Special Service Force aka 'The Devil's Brigade' and saw action in the Aleutians Italy and France. Upon his return to Ootsa Lake he worked as a logger farmer guide-outfitter and placer miner until retirement." - back board. Clean bright and unmarked with light wear. An attractive copy.
