Fresco esemplare, ad ampi margini. "Zita nacque nel 1218 da un'umile famiglia contadina di Monsagrati, poco fuori Lucca. Non ebbe nessuna particolare istruzione, ma fin da bambina si dette la regola di condotta di chiedersi se le sue azioni potessero piacere o meno al Signore. A dodici anni la piccola Zita entrò a servizio nel palazzo della ricca famiglia lucchese dei Fatinelli, dove restò per tutta la vita con umiltà e devozione. Per questo il suo attributo sono le chiavi, e Pio XII l'ha poi proclamata patrona delle domestiche.

Si tratta di un contributo scientifico originale maturato attraverso la collaborazione tra l'Università di Firenze, e le emanazioni territoriali del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali con la Regione Toscana. In June 2013 the UNESCO added the Villa of Careggi, a property of the Regional Government of Tuscany since 2004, in the World Heritage list. This book aims to show the historical and artistic value of the villa by providing a set of writings, memories, impressions, and images. This original scientific essay is the result of a cooperation between the University of Florence and the local offices of the Ministry of Culture, together with the Region of Tuscany.
