1976réf. 8957This is a signed copy of "To Jerusalem and Back - A Personal Account" by Saul Bellow with its original dust jacket. 1976 1st edition 1st printing with "First Published in 1976" stated on the copyright page; The Viking Press; New York. This copy is SIGNED by Bellow at the top of the title page in pen. The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original price intact on the front flap. The top edge of the text block is stained blue. From the dust jacket: "This extraordinary book is the result of Saul Bellow's sojourn in Israel during several months in late 1975. It was hardly his first experience of Jerusalem - he had covered the 1967 Six Day War for Newsday - but in many ways it was his most intense. To Jerusalem and Back is his personal record of his stay in Israel and a meditation crackling with wit and controversy on America's relationship with the embattled country. Saul Bellow's journey then is not merely to a very beautiful and very troubled city but into the heart of one of the most tragic and complex issues of this century. His 'personal account' is a major literary work and an urgently important one." Condition: Clean covers; there is a small very light stain at the bottom-right corner of the spine.
