Original b/w photograph of artist 7 5/8 x 6" on dedication page. "The weeds I drew for this book I picked at random. Each one held unique mysteries for me and each one differed dramatically in shape and structure from the other. "Burn them! Tear them out! Destroy them!"-This is the reaction of most people to the mere sight of weeds. What I think and feel about wild plants I hope I have been able to convey through the way I have drawn them." Artist.
