Megerle gained great fame thanks to his sermons. The outbreak of the plague as well as the siege of Vienna by the Turks led him to preach not only in church but also through print.''s Waerelds mooi -en leelykheid' is the first Dutch translation of 'Huy! und Pfuy! der Welt' 1707. In these texts Megerle uses natural everyday phenomenona to demonstrate God's wisdom and omnipotence.
