2019brossura Dopo molta incertezza, Simona accoglie l'invito della zia suora e, nel maggio del 2013, si reca nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo, il Paese più ricco dell'Africa ma con la popolazione più povera del continente. L'aereo tocca terra e la sua avventura ha inizio. Simona visita ospedali, farmacie, scuole, case di riposo per anziani, orfanotrofi, tutte strutture gestite dalle suore. Le malattie più diffuse sono: la lebbra, il colera, l'AIDS, il tifo, la tubercolosi, la malaria e la malnutrizione. Molte volte le persone arrivano in ospedale con una patologia allo stato terminale, oppure soltanto quando lo stregone non è riuscito a trovare un rimedio. Grazie a Dio ci sono le suore, vera testimonianza del Vangelo, che con la loro presenza condividono e accolgono i bisognosi.
